Dental anxiety isn't a character flaw — for many people it traces back to one bad experience the body never forgot. We treat anxiety as part of the treatment plan, not an inconvenience to it. Tell us where you are on the nervousness scale when you book, and we'll match the right option to you.
Three levels of sedation
Nitrous oxide
A gentle gas you breathe through a small mask. You stay awake and aware, but relaxed. It wears off within minutes, so you can typically drive yourself home. Good for mild-to-moderate nerves.
Oral sedation
A prescribed medication taken before your visit. You remain awake but deeply relaxed — many patients remember little of the appointment. You'll need a driver. Good for stronger anxiety and longer appointments.
IV sedation
The deepest option, delivered and monitored throughout your visit by a licensed visiting anesthesia provider. Most patients recall little to nothing afterward. An escort drives you home. Good for severe anxiety and implant or full-arch treatment.
None of these is general anesthesia in a hospital sense — “sleep dentistry” marketing often overstates. What we promise is accurate: calm, comfort, and for the deeper options, little or no memory of the procedure.
Sedation questions we hear most
Will I be completely asleep?
With nitrous oxide, no — pleasantly relaxed and fully awake. With oral and IV sedation you'll be in a deeply relaxed state; many patients drift and remember little, but these are not hospital general anesthesia.
Is sedation safe?
Each option is matched to your health history and medications first — that review is non-negotiable. IV sedation here is administered and monitored by a licensed anesthesia provider throughout your visit.
Can I drive home afterward?
After nitrous oxide, typically yes — it clears within minutes. After oral or IV sedation, no: you'll need someone to bring you and take you home.
I'm embarrassed about how long it's been since I saw a dentist. Honestly, how bad will the visit be?
You will not get a lecture here — not from anyone. The first visit is an exam and a conversation about what you want. Many of our patients started exactly where you are.
The hardest part is the phone call. Make it easy — text us instead.
Tell us you're nervous. That's all it takes to start. We'll handle the rest, at your pace.
We'll get back to you — usually the same day, and always within two business days.
